Any struggling teachers on here (dont come after me with typos and comma usage, okay šŸ˜‰)??? I am dreading going back to school in January. I love the kids, and I literally have the patience of a saint with them lol. It is the adults who are negatively impacting my mental and physical health. I have hypothyroidism, a fairly new diagnosis, but something I have struggled with daily for 3 years. The critical and demeaning attitude of administration is just exasperating my symptoms, making my irritability, memory loss, brain fog, chronic pain, fatigue, insomnia, and migraines so much worse. I have a few coworkers (leaders in my department)who act like it's all my head, and what I am struggling with isn't a real thing. My doctor didn't help and also put off my symptoms because my TSH levels normalized after taking hormone replacement therapy (my symptoms persist). During the break, I bought some books to educate myself about hypothyroidism, and I am floored. All of my struggles have been validated. I am looking for a holistic approach to get my health back and reduce my stress. Really dreading facing the negativity I have to go back to at work in less than a week. Any tips, suggestions, and encouragement are appreciated. Thanks, fam.
