Lost my fiancé in September. having a hard time coping. I'm staying busy, but I have no room to grieve. I'm helping others more than I'm helping myself. Insite please to help with grieving.

Hey. I lost my grandpa in October. He was my best friend. I haven't cried as much as people around me. It's almost like I'm pushing away my own grief deep inside so that I can be there for other people. I'm really sorry for your loss, I know you've probably heard that sentence a lot. My advice for your grief is to just allow yourself to feel the pain. It comes in waves, each wave hurting the same amount, but slowly, the waves will be further apart. I once saw someone describe grief as being in a box with a ball and a pain button. The ball is huge and fills the whole box for a while and is constantly hitting the button. Slowly, the ball gets smaller, hitting the button less. It has the same amount of pain as it hits, but less frequently. The ball and button will always be there, but you will gradually find more and more time between the pain to feel happy about life again. I hope this helps. ♥︎
