Everything my boyfriend does scares me. I’ve never been in a healthy relationship before and my last before him was the worst. Everything he does worries me because I got used to the manipulation and lies and now even though I know he has genuine intentions it’s so hard to trust him after my ex. I know this is normal but is there a way to make it better?

TALK TO HIM!! That’s all you can really do. It is completely normal to feel like you can’t trust anyone especially after what you’ve been through but the only way to fix it is to talk about it.

Communication. He needs patience. Also both of you try to figure out what your triggers are. My husband can now tell by how I react if something he’s done has triggered something from the past and he makes me talk to him about it so we can work through it. It takes a special kind of man to hang with us broken girls. Also pray together. Most important. Prayer is everything.

It’s very very normal. What really helps, is talking to him about it. A relationship is a two way street. He can’t help unless he knows how you feel. If he is genuine, he’ll stick by you and help and show you with actions and not just words that he cares. I do also recommend speaking to a professional if you don’t already because PTSD isn’t something to deal with alone

allow him to show you he’s trustworthy. Tell him this, how you feel and why you feel this way. If he loves you he will understand and be patient with you and reassure you as much as you need. ❤️
