I have a family doctor and then I saw a gyno, then went to see a midwife specialist doctor for endometriosis, then got a referral from family doctor for neurologist and cardiologist. it does help to have one in the middle to give you these referrals. they can take time to get appointments though. I’ve waited months for appointments and surgeries and tests.

Unfortunately you generally need a general provider then get different specialists through them. Think of your gp as a link to them all connecting it all together.
