Relieving My PCP of Much of My Care

Time to relieve my PCP of much of my care. I feel all my health issues have become too complicated for him to handle very well. I see the PCP tomorrow and will be asking for referrals to several specialists. Cardiologist for high blood pressure. Pulmologist for asthma. Endocrinologist for diabetes and a PT referral for my back/hips...sigh. All of these appts will definitely make my life more complicated, but I believe I will feel better in the long run. Probably take quite a few months to get in to see these specialists. I got more time than anything though..🙄

I have myotonic dystrophy which causes symptoms in most major systems in my body and I’ve had to coordinate my own care for years. I still have a PCP for my diabetes and just general stuff. I have him prescribe my meds to keep them all in one spot though. I don’t have a doctor that knows enough about my disease (except my neurologist and he is not willing to oversee it) to coordinate things. It has been a nightmare really.

A PT will work you silly, but there are some caring ones out there that want to help you improve.

Sorry your PCP is not so helpful. Mine is the hub of all of my care. Good luck with the specialists!!

You shouldn't have to wait too long for PT.
