I had open heart surgery 8 months ago. I've mostly recovered and am living a somewhat normal life. I'm a cyborg now, seeing as i need a pacemaker. My biggest gripe is medication that I will need to take the rest of my life to regulate my heart rate. It has slowed my metabolism way the heck down and I'm having a hard time losing 20lbs. Anyway- my reason for posting is that had a chest tube that was necessary during Open Heart Surgery and then for a couple of days afterward. I have 2 indentations / scars now, where the tubes were inserted. My indentations / scars move with my heartbeat. It looks gross to me and I feel it. My cardiologist postulates that when they pulled my chest tube out, a piece of internal scar tissue stuck to the largeindentation, and that it is connected closely to my pericardial tissue, thus it moves with every beat of my heart. does anyone else have something similar?
