i did track and field in my sophomore and junior years in highschool but i eventually decided to quit because at that time i had a lot of things going on; my brother was very suicidal, my mom was getting remarried, etc. basically my anxiety was at an all time high. I hyperventilated a few times during practice because the coaches were being really hard on me. when i quit, a lot of people said they were disappointed in me which made things worse. Fast forward to senior year today,, now a ton of people from the track team are saying they want me back and are really pressuring me even though I've said no over and over again. I really don't feel comfortable going back especially since those people teased me for being shy during my hardest times. I actually do enjoy running, just not competitively anymore. ...i just wanted to rant tbh sorry lol

You have nothing to apologise for! That’s a hard experience and they are treating you terribly. No means no, not “try to convince me”. Don’t feel bad for doing what is best for you. You have a right to boundaries. If they can’t respect you then you have a right to distance yourself

Your health comes first. If they don't understand that, then they probably don't really care about you. Sounds like you're talented at running and they just want a better team. They're being selfish. Also, HS is almost over. It most certainly was not my favorite time in life. Idk about you, but it'll be over soon and you will meet better people anyways. Don't let those people get to you because soon they won't even be in your life and they won't matter. What will matter is your well-being. Take care of yourself ♥️
