How do I feel more secure in my relationship? I was in an abusive relationship for a while and I've also just been in a couple other crappy relationships where people left me without explaining why, and I keep finding myself just looking for red flags that aren't there to protect myself. He always provides reassurance and is patient with me, but I feel bad I keep having to ask him for reassurance. It's not really fair for me to put the pressure of always giving reassurance on him, even tho he insists he doesn't mind. How do I just convince my brain that he really won't hurt or leave me? Logically, ik he's amazing; I don't want to self-sabotage something great.

"Therapy with a therapist you trust is one of the best ways to deal with insecurities in a relationship. It can help you deal with these thoughts and insecurities on your own without having to seek reassurance from him. Also, understanding attachment theory could be helpful as it's not uncommon for people with avoidant or fearful-avoidant attachments to feel the urge to run when things get serious."
