I recently had an accident that involved me thinking alcohol was water. as a result I was intubated and kept in the ICU for about a week. I already have complex post-traumatic stress, but at this point think I also fall under the category of post I see you syndrome. it's commonly known as PICS. Feel like I can't remember anything, like my amnesia gaps are getting bigger. C-PTSD has been worse than I can remember since I first started getting help for it in 2010. Feel lost and alone. Like one girl fell asleep and a different girl came home from the hospital.

@Serengale They also claim that the pics or post intensive care syndrome can go on for days, weeks, months, or several years even. It's apparently a fairly common epidemic for people to end up with post intensive care syndrome.

Being hospitalized, and even more so in the ICU, is a scary and traumatic event. I don't know when you were released from the hospital but I can say that little by little this feeling passes, you will start to remember more what happened and what you experienced because right now you are in a kind of repression. If you feel you need to talk about it with someone, I think you should contact a psychologist, he will surely be able to help.

@Derek20 the sad part about that is that counselors and psychiatrists, Etc won't even allow me to talk about what just happened. There was a lot of traumatic things that happened, that as a former medical personnel I know should not have happened. I feel like I have no human rights and like I'm literally just a hollow shell. I know it's the effects of my depression and other mental health issues, it just seems like each time I reach out to for help from anyone, be at family, friends, or professional.... I get stonewalled or rejected, which leads me to feel like I'm not important.
