Hi all! TLDR I’m getting physical side effects that I got when I was cycling but not emotional ones. Anyone else experience this? I don’t think it is med side effects. I’m in Lamictal/lamotrigine for reference (I also take clonidine). My mood stabilizer works great and I’m very grateful for that; however, I feel like my body is still physically cycling. I’m not sure if this is actually the case or if it is just med side effects. Does this happen to anyone else? My mood is almost completely stable (and it’s not just me, my partner agrees) It physically feels really bad. When I get very jittery, it is a tell for mania for me. But it is much worse than when I was mentally manic. I feel nauseous, have a headache, and get so jittery I have a hard time walking around. I can’t hold my hand straight in the air. I feel like I’m in withdrawal from something. I literally call it tweaking, I hope I’m not offending anyone. I don’t think it is a med side effect because it’s not consistent and emerges only ever couple of weeks. If I drink any amount of coffee I for sure get this way, but other forms of caffeine are much better tolerated. I sometimes if I don’t get enough sleep. But sometimes also just because. Those were all my usual trigger for mania. I’m wondering if it is possible that my body basically thinks it’s time to get manic , but my brain isn’t producing those chemicals so I am kind of in withdrawal. Or potentially that my body gets manic but I don’t have the high of mania to cover the physical symptom? Obviously, I’m going to talk to my psychiatrist, but I wanted to see if anyone else experienced this as well. Similar, there are other times I feel like my body goes through depressive states. I sleep like 13 hours at night and then during the day am still sleepy. I am physically fatigued as well. I don’t think this is a side effect of my meds because I didn’t get any side effects from it for months (except a small rash in the beginning). I’m not sure that they would have randomly emerged six months in? As already mentioned I’m on Lamictal/lamotrigine. The clonidine I’ve been taking for a year now. Anyone relate? And thank you by the way for reading and responding. You guys are the best.
