Panic Attack After Nightmare About Friend's Death

I wake up from a dead sleep in a full panic attack after having nightmares of my friend dying and his roommate texting me that she found him not breathing and not knowing how long he had been out... I'll have such a hard time breathing myself that I spring out of bed and have to hold the wall while I'm coughing and hacking just to be able to breathe even a little bit.
