Nervous for Dinner with Mom

I'm kinda nervous for tomorrow. I live with my dad but on Thursdays I have dinner with my mom, and this weekend if her weekend. Last time I was over there the cops got called and it was horrific. My grandpa threatened me saying I was forced to be there and had no choice and couldnt leave even If I wanted to. I haven't seen her since, and we skipped last Thursday. idk how to feel or what to expect.

      I'm so sorry. There is nothing worse as a child than being held against your will and reminded you are powerless. Have you tried looking up local custody laws to see at what age they let children decide which parent they want to see? Maybe it's not too far off and you won't have to see these people again.

        @lilee I had a similar experience to you at that age. I won't give you advice, but I just pretended I agreed with everything they were saying and kept quiet except to ask them questions and let them talk. People like that love talking, especially if they think someone is hanging on their every word. They don't realize it's fake.

          @lilee yea!! I've been trying to do that for awhile but one major thing I don't like about being over there is because someone- (close to them and used to be close to me) I want no affliations with because they make me highly uncomfortable and they know this but they so forcefully want us to get along and things to "go back to normal" again so they constantly ask me if I want him over or to hang out and it's just difficult

        @lilee I have actually, I'm 17 years old and in my state I'm allowed to legally choose where I want to live between parents at 13 years old. My dad and stepmom are going to be taking my moms side to court because of it actually soon luckily, but for the time being all I can do is deal with it :(
