Anxiety can be worse in the morning due to various reasons. Some people may experience what's called nocturnal panic attacks, which can cause anxiety during sleep and continue into the morning. Additionally, mornings can be rushed or filled with anticipation about the day ahead, which can trigger anxiety. Another possible reason is the body's production of cortisol, a stress hormone that tends to be higher in the morning. Lack of adequate sleep can also contribute to increased anxiety as the body produces more adrenaline when it doesn't get enough rest.
