My mom is “dating” an 18 year old guy, she said she wanted to set me up with him while acting jealous of me and him just talking. I’m not interested in anyone and wasn’t looking, I’m a lesbian 😅. He’s an alcoholic and so is my mom, I’m a recovering alcoholic and the 2nd time he came over he was drinking with my mom. I impulsively drank ruining my sobriety track, and my mom got mad at me. I overshared to him and cried in-front of him. That’s not even the half of it.

Consider going to an AnAnon meeting, even if online. It’s for family members of alcoholics

Later that night I was still drinking but tapped out way before them. My mom told me he’d be sleeping on the couch then I come out and they’re both in her room. He’s been staying with us ever since and now my mom is still drinking with him and partying. Even worse she’s lying to me which hurts most of all. I wouldn’t be so upset if I didn’t have to worry about my little sister too, she’s uncomfortable also and misses “the old mom”, the new mom is drinking, hanging out with all different types of men, and always locking her door (my little sister is very clingy). It’s gotten to the point to where I’m looking forward to move out when I’m 18 and I’m considering taking my little sister with me. I need advice and maybe someone to tell me my feelings are valid. Thank you for reading this.

@Ana23 Your feelings are definitely valid. Is it possible for you to do more with your sister since she does not seem independent. If you move on your own it will be tough in some ways and better in others. Consider your sister may not want to move if she is still clinging to your mom. I know you know this but you need to be sober to make these kind of big life decisions and so you can be there. If it is possible for you counseling is always a great resource.
