Hi my name is Aidyn, I got diagnosed with most of my disorders a while ago but I don't take any medication because my father thinks all of my disorders aren't that serious and I've been failing most of my classes this is just a random introduction.

Hello. Suffer of several disorders/mental illnesses here. Depression ADHD Anxiety Insomnia Hypothyroidism and PCOS I can relate to you very much as my father has also completely disregarded and disrespected my diagnoses. Growing up, he always told me that I could function perfectly fine without medication or therapy. I’ve spent years arguing with him over this. I’m fortunate enough to have been in the care of my grandparents growing up, otherwise I would have been left untreated and unmedicated until adulthood. You need to be firm with your father, and if possible seek out another family member who can help you get the treatments/therapy/medication you need to succeed. I struggled with school a lot myself and I couldn’t imagine doing it all without the help of my doctors and medication. I really hope you can get the help you need, regardless of what your father believes of your diagnosis.

You are worth so much more than your grades. If your father doesn’t believe you find someone who will.

hi! i have bipolar and i had to stop taking my meds in october bc of other reasons, but i basically couldn’t focus all semester bc of it and now i have to spend break finishing 4/5 of my classes. still might fail a few classes. but now im basically trying to learn how to focus and be productive without meds and it’s really hard. if you haven’t already, PLEASE advocate for yourself with your teachers, administration, etc. you’d be surprised how understanding people can be. if you feel comfortable, set up a meeting with someone at your school (idk if you’re in high school or college, but i set up a meeting with my advisor and i told him everything and i was able to talk to my teachers about it and get some extensions / leniency). you can also ask your therapist or psychiatrist for proof of your diagnosis and stuff if that helps your teachers. good luck! bad grades aren’t the end of the world. you can always bounce back.
i’m sorry you’re in that position. my mom didn’t take my mental illness seriously when i was younger, and i ended up failing a lot of classes too. know that it’s not your fault.
Thank you! That actually helped me in a way
Hey! I also failed a lot of my classes when I was in schooling because of sicknesses. I’m sorry you have to deal with that! Your health conditions are totally valid even if other people refuse to believe it!
