Hey there, just wanted to let you know that I understand where you are at. I constantly struggle with depression and anxiety as do quite a few people around you right now that may not even be admitting it. I will say that my depression and anxiety have lessened quite a bit because of my use of duloxetine and buspirone. I've been on lots of different medications to try and manage these two things and none seem to work except for this combination which is just amazing. As far as finding people to bond with and be close to, I think the biggest mistake I was making was looking for people who were just like me. It turns out one of my best friends these days is an extroverted go-getter with a heart, that last part is important lol, who I never would have thought of being someone that was what I needed . There is a fallacy that best friends need to be almost carbon copies of each other to truly connect. This is almost always brought on by the fact that every best friend thing we see in the TV in the movies tends to be based around commonalities. So go out and try things that aren't what you normally would do. And when you see even a small opening, step into the conversation or the activity and give it a shot. You don't have to continue if it really didn't work, or, maybe try even harder on that one thing and to see if it's a path to a breakthrough.
