Feeling Neglected by My Mom

I'm sorry 😞 😔 😟

I haven’t seen my entire family including extended on both sides for almost 4 years because my parents weren’t good role models and my mom is bipolar with mania and my dad has a rare auto immune disorder. Unfortunately instead of coming together and helping each other with our issues we share they decided I don’t deserve empathy for my illnesses, just theirs. I am a single mom of two teenage boys and we were really hurt and sad but eventually we all realized family isn’t always relative and my kids and I are all the family I want and need 🥰

I'm so sorry. Mom was the same way when she was living. I finally got fed up and moved to a different state!

I haven't spoken to my biodad in years. He has only seen my grown children twice and I had to make it happen. He knows it is his fault I am this way, both genetically and by being raised with a father who has bipolar depression. She might feel like your troubles are her fault somehow?

I agree about that except it’s with my Dad, I know he loves me and whatnot, and I get to see him every once in a while, but come on man!
