Does anyone ever feel really upset or like they want to cry because they really want someone to hug/cuddle/generally be affectionate with but there's nobody you feel safe doing that with? Especially when you haven't had any affection all day? Bonus: Does anyone know have any ideas how to combat this? Currently utilizing the overabundance of stuffies I own lol but if anyone has any other ideas I'd love to know (I wasn't sure what to put this under so I hope those work) (Sorry if this is stupid I'm just having feelings rn and wanna know if I'm alone in this lol)

Get a cat. They're easy to take care of. I have one. It's helped a lot.

I feel like that as well sometimes I just want someone to hug me and say it'll be okay luckily for me I have my family who are supportive and I also have two cats who I enjoy cuddling and playing with šŸ˜Š

I've spent many nights alone feeling lonely to the point where I'd just talk to myself so at least I had someone to talk to per se

I get it all the time. My family doesn't believe I have PTSD or panic attacks. I had a weighted blanket for a while. It helped, but it was going to cost a fortune to get it cleaned (I'm a big guy)

Thank you! I have a weighted blanket but it didn't occur to me to use it to try to help, so thanks for the idea! :D

I totally get it, out of the handfull of people I know there's only maybe one person I feel somewhat safe to give and especially receive affection, (receiving is the hard part for me personally), and their not always around, one thing that has helped me is useing weighted things such as blankets, plushes as it helps me get used to more human like hugs/cuddles, I also set more boundaries with the people I do know on what I am/am not comfortable with and then depending on how it goes I get get more used to the person and feel more safe with them, that's all I've learned about myself so far, I hope it helps and I hope you figure more out! ā™”

Many people experience feelings of touch starvation and crave physical affection such as hugs or cuddles. Some ways to combat this include using larger stuffed animals, heating up uncooked rice/beans in the microwave to act as a heating pad, cuddling with XL pillows in bed while laying on a heating pad, or even getting a pet like a dog or cat. Others have found comfort in using weighted blankets or weighted stuffed animals, which can replicate the feeling of human touch.
