So you work with a special needs kiddo? It's rough when your physically hurt or attacked at work. It's hard not to take that personally. I hope you took the time to process that with someone. If you need to, please message me, I can listen. Kiddos can have good and bad days too. Maybe your just starting to warm up to them. Take a moment to check in with your supervisor or their case worker to process what's been going on so far. They may have some insights. I usually had a honeymoon period or a terrible twos kinda period with kiddos I worked with. They may just be having a hard time expressing their needs effectively. Try giving them the benefit of the doubt and getting some feedback from some of the kiddos team. Worse case scenario, you two decide to not work together and try working with someone else. Not everyone is a match for everyone else. That's okay to admit. Just take things one day at a time and lean on your co-workers and their experience.

Kids are tough and will test boundaries. Special needs kids are even more difficult. Think outside the box. You'll find something specific to the child that works.

@SweetTea77 I feel like I am not connecting with my kid at work. Today was a rough day. Plus I was hit in the face and the back by toys.
