Feeling a bit down. one of my friends is considering fostering children. I'm happy for her, but I'm also jealous. I'm mostly blind and have some mental health struggles (I'm on medication and going to therapy to help with those issues), and she always says things like they probably won't let me foster/adopt, and that eventually I'll have to move in with her when my dad dies (He's 80). things like that. I don't know how to tell her how discouraging those thoughts are, because I want to be independent and have a family. I'm about to be 37, so I feel like my time to have a family of my own is running out and adoption is my only choice. I just wonder if she's right, and I'm silly for thinking someday I want to live alone and raise kids. guess I don't need comments, necessarily, but I needed to say this somewhere.
