We never really know who we'll wake up as in certain cases but usually the person who went to bed isn't far out of reach if they have plans for the next day. We created a fragment who exists for that and to cope with nightmares though, he works as a functional pivot so we can switch into him to go to sleep and he wakes up, then who ever wants to switch in for the rest of the morning can. It helps keep people from getting too stuck to the front both accidentally and intentionally when they arent supposed to. We are definitely doing night things not everyone remembers though, I'm one of the culprits. Theres this Rick and Morty episode about "Night people" which is essentially the family's unconscious minds and bodies doing the work they dont want to do while they're awake during the day, I regularly feel this way bc if someone else lays down or switches away before the tasks are done for the night I pop in and stay up- potentially for hours- to do those tasks only to switch away for the fragment to sleep/someone else to shower. It made it so for awhile all my existence was chores, arguing, and watching Rick and Morty so the episode really started to hit weird. The littles like to play at night, especially if their caregiver has been flakey about taking care of them during day periods, this can be harmless but it can also mean we dont do any night routine stuff and pass out on the floor while playing. Some of the teenagers will just wander into the night for a walk even if it's super dark and they dont recognize the location. Not all of them are reckless, some are helpful even (*cough* me *cough*), but you still gotta take responsibility for the reckless stuff

Scary Terrifying Panic Distressing Triggering Disoriented
We can't control the switches... and we can't control what our Alters do. All we can do is practice System Responsibility and take responsibility for the actions of the body we inhabit. Whether it was one who did something or another, the system needs to be able to make amends and fix situations they may not have necessarily caused. All that to say, your Alters are going to do and say what they do and say. It's unavoidable.
