What are some strategies to communicate the uncertainty of my conditions with an employer? They certainly are accepting and want to learn about it, but how do I communicate that I don't always know my triggers?

I've struggled with this a lot. In the couple years after I got diagnosed I got fired from 3 or 4 different jobs due to frequent call offs. They always told me to bring a doctors note, but I didn't have insurance and what's the point of going to the doctor when I know exactly whats wrong and they can't do anything about it? It was actually to the point (and still is i think) if I really hate my job my stomach won't let me go in. Even if I like my job and just wake up and don't feel mentally prepared for work, my stomach will give me an out.

This is such a hard battle.. bc everyone's situation is different. (Might be helpful to tell them that) and you can also say each day is fluid and you never know how you will wake up that day and with what symptoms. Not sure what kind of job you are doing but perhaps discuss remote days when things are bad?
