anyone else in the UK getting scared about the ambulance strikes next week, just seen the news that they will definitely get an ambulance for CAT1 calls but not necessarily CAT2 (which is what severe Asthma attacks, strokes and heart Attacks come under)!! makes me so anxious πππ¬π¬

Iβm so stressed as someone in my family was experiencing bad bleeding downstairs and had to wait 17 hours to get served/seen.

When you call just say I have severe asthma and my attacks are life threatening. Then list your symptoms and ask for a cat 1 response.

I think severe asthma attack is cat 1. I had one, once as an adult scariest time of my life they stayed on the phone the whole time and got someone to me in 7 mins the whole thing was terrifying felt like I was drowning
@indie9367 I was always a CAT1 till about 2 weeks ago when the changed the CAT and then I became CAT2 along with strokes and heart Attacks. It is so scary, they came to me last night and my SATS were at 78% π₯Ήπ₯Ή
@CBFSQueenxx ahh idk the rules i thought it was all the same for everyone.. maybe it was because mine was a first for me I genuinely had no idea what I was doing couldn't find my blue inhaler or anything x
Sending love to u folks πππ my mom works in the ER over here (hawaii) and she said that she doesnβt know how ur ambulance system works, but she said try gathering emergency contacts. 1-3 people who could act as your ambulance in the event that you canβt drive. Obviously this doesnβt include immediate first aid but itβs better than nothing

@Ruthieeee Thankyou, this is a good idea xx
I'm so stressed bout this really feel for people who regularly need an ambulance especially elderly people and people with disabilities πππ’ππ
@yumzy199725 I've had six ambulances in 10 days and I'm nervous, I had an asthma attack the other day and waited 2 hours for an ambulance ππ didn't think I was gonna survive at one point xx
@CBFSQueenxx awww ππ₯. That's so bad 6 ambulances in ten days! That's rough π©. And 2 hours after having an asthma attack there so serious!! When I had one 3 years back gasping for air my sister had to quickly call an ambulance it came so quickly and I was so thankful for that ππ© cause it turned out I was very ill with LRT infection (but that's a whole other story ). Hope you don't end up needing one ππ. Asthma can get so bad this time of year aswell they forget about people like that. I understand there ridiculously over worked but I've never heard of them going on strike before! π
I agree with you it makes me anxious
