How would you word a text message telling someone that you’re too low-energy/out of spoons to message them or have a conversation without being or sounding rude. Especially if they don’t know about your conditions or Spoon Theory?

I will often say something like “Hey I need to lay low for a bit but I’ll be in touch soon.” It’s general enough so you don’t have to disclose if you don’t want to nor to you have to make up another reason. I also try to remind myself that I don’t owe people a lot of explanations and I’m allowed to take time for myself

If they don't know about your conditions, I think you could tell them you've had a long day/week and you need to take a bit of time for yourself to recharge. Hope this helps ❤️
