Dealing with Hallucinations: Losing a Friend

hey! before i get to my question, a bit of backstory- my main hallucination is named julian. he is not visual, just sorta,,, a very distinct prescence? and sometimes i hear him or he gives me command thoughts. he typically follows me everywhere, but lately he has been just standing to the side of whatever room im in. ive been trying to make peace with him by being friendly, so i assumed this was a result of that- i gained his respect enough to earn some personal space. however, i think he has been replaced? or is in the process of being replaced by a different distinct presence. this has happened to me a lot- i befriend/earn the respect of a hallucination, and just as we're making progress, they're replaced by someone else. my question is; does this (getting to know a hallucination and them being replaced) happen to anyone else? do you know why this happens?? is there anything i can do about it?
