Make sure you have a first aid kit and a starter tool box or any starter tools!! And remember not to pack more than you’ll be able to bring home again :) lots of people end up having to throw a lot of really good cool stuff out because they have no room to pack it again

update. My dorm uses screws with the weirdest screw head. The tools have proven useless 🤣

EXPERIENCE IT. Yes, you are paying for an education, so 100% make sure you are learning and making the money worth it. BUT also get the college experience! Go out with friends, go to sporting events, join clubs, and do all the things you’ve seen in movies! I promise it makes the entire experience so much better AND it will prevent burnout from school itself. Good luck and I hope it all goes well!! Congratulations!šŸ¤—

communication is GOD. dorming was a living hell because i was too scared to communicate hard boundaries to my roommates. write out everything that’s important to you ranging from small to big. for me, i wasn’t okay with dishes being left out overnight due to bacterial growth and my roommates refused to respect that and it became an issue. write out your triggers so they’re known. have monthly roommate meetings to discuss anything important or anything you feel the need to reiterate
