Currently getting college decisions back, and my anxiety is skyrocketing. I really want to be spending this time having fun with friends but instead I’m just increasingly anxious about my future and I keep having to stop myself from spiraling. Any advice?

I was forced to go to college right away by my parents, and as hard as I tried I wasn't ready and I failed a lot of classes and lost financial aid because my low rate of completion. I didn't do good in highschool either though. So if I were able to I'd take a year off before college, save up money get experience in a job, and apartment. But if you do it now your going to have to juggle a bit probably, but you'll get more perks like being able to work on campus, use the campus library ect. College for me was a lot like highschool except you pick your classes, teachers and what time you want to get up for your first class. You do have to buy supplies and figure out what you'll do for lunch but its similar. The financial stuff and the grades are the hardest part I think.

I was at this point about 2 years ago. I’m currently a sophomore in college but back then I was flipping out. Like panic attack on the ground. Just remember what they decide is out of your control and worrying won’t change anything. Also I went to my college for a sport, decided not to play, got 2 years in and then changed my major. Nothing is set in stone and life changes what you want to do can change and that’s ok! Just take it one step at a time and you’ll do ok

I remember feeling the same way when I was in high school. I ended up not going to college at all and I'm doing fine on my own

I felt the same way when I was your age and I ended up not doing anything and taking a year off. I regret not going right away. I'd say if you're doing community college take classes that sound fun and interesting to you first to get yourself excited about going instead of anxious. Just remember no one has it figured out. I'm 25 and I still don't have it figured out. Just enjoy the ride.
