As someone with keratoconus for only 2 years and has to have crosslinking done and to wear sclera hard contact lenses, How did the procedure go and is there anything I should know before hand that you wish you would have gotten or used

I had Collagen cross-linking done on both eyes at the same time a few years ago. I was warned it would be painful and I watched a vlog of someone recording their recovery which prepared me somewhat. Given I had to travel for 2.5hr to get home, they gave me extra painkillers, so I could survive the journey. But as soon as I got home, it was a huge amount of pain. Constant headaches. You will need help getting home and you will need someone to help look after you for several days afterwards. Be prepared. The hard contacts were much easier to put in than normal contacts. I also have difficulty getting things closer to my eye, but these weren't too bad. The good news is that the surgery was a huge success for me and my vision had stabilised. Good luck, 🤞 I really hope it goes well for you

also I have a small pouch with travel supplies for my scleral lenses like two plungers, a small 3oz saline solution, and contact case that I carry with me everywhere
