Does anyone else stay cooped up in their room most of the time? I work most of the day and come home and don't usually leave my room after that unless I go to the bathroom, get a snack, or sometimes talk to my parents when they get home from work. My mom will sometimes say things like "All you do is sit in your room all day and do nothing." and I try to explain to her that I'm sadly just tired after work and prefer to sleep, relax, watch YouTube or play video games in my free time since I'll have to do the same thing again the next day for work. I dont drive yet, I dont have any friends besides 1 who works all the time too, I just don't have the energy to go and do things everyday and would prefer to stay within my room that I feel safe in and rest. I feel like I shouldn't feel guilty from staying in my room after working, but I do when I hear those things. Sorry for this long rant, but I just feel so alone with this and have nowhere else to say these things šŸ’—

I definitely used to do this when I lived with my dad up until last year. I actually moved out since my dad was becoming so verbally aggressive towards me for being depressed and wanting to do nothing but lay around. It was a main lack of motivation and eventually, living with my friend, I learned that it wasn't just my dad's treatment of me making me unmotivated. Depression takes a huge toll on how you go through every day.

Most days I don't even have the will to get out of bed unless it's to go to the bathroom or to work. My mom tells me I shouldn't spend all day in my room to and she always says I need to get out more and she takes me to a bunch of events and stuff to try and get me out. She knows I have crippling depression and can't take medicine or anything for it
