Have You Ever Been Bullied for Being Quiet?

Trigger Warning Possibly: Have you ever had someone physically assault or pick on you for being quiet (as a kid or adult)? In my experience in school, there have been people who would try to manipulate me or make fun of me to their friends because they didn't think I was aware enough to catch on (ex. "Wow, you're so pretty. You don't have a bf yet?"- in a condescending tone; people ask you out as a joke to get a reaction out of you). Or there we're people who would hit you because they see you by yourself (ex. girls hitting you in the head with pom poms or putting their feet on the back of your desk and on your stuff). Even now, in both my jobs I've had coworkers try to gossip or talk down to me for one minor mistake out of a million positives. In my recent one, they didn't pay me for a month and tried to get rid of me because I didn't fit into the environment even though I did my job very well. They found my quietness rude, annoying or weird. One coworker purposely knocked into me hard constantly and never apologized. Being nice or saying good morning to them never made them treat me better. When I finally confronted them outside of work hours about my pay after asking politely three times, they never scheduled me for work again. In my state, there's nothing I can legally do about not being paid on time. I loved the job but the management and work environment sucked.
