Should I be worried about my boyfriend's drug use?

my boyfriend I thinking of splitting while taking a month break over the fact I made him choose the drugs or me,because I felt scared to loose him went taking the drugs (magic mushrooms)he said I was wrong to want to break up over him taking drugs.we started talking to him again after two days of not talking,he called me told me he was sorry what he said and more.he wants to take a break for a month and thinking about breaking up.he told me not to worry than went to work.i am scared if he chooses the break he will break up with me.i only want him,he even give me a promise ring for my 18 birthday.
