I need some help. I met a guy he is really sweet to me and my son. But there is on problem. I have a service dog for multiple conditions. He is always asking why I have to bring her everywhere. I explained in a more detailed way how she helps me. He mentioned about going on a mini weekend vacation and I said we could take my van so he doesn't get dog hair all over his new car. he said Oh it's coming too. Do you think I'm being ridiculous if I end the relationship. I am getting a bit tired of him not wanting my service dog by my side like she's trained to do. Thanks for reading my very long post.

I’d say end it. If he truly cares about you, he would have fully embraced the dog when you said she was a service animal - no further explanation needed.

Being a veteran and having a service animal myself. The service animal is therefore your protection, physically, emotionally, mentally and maybe even spirituality. This dog is literally apart of you, apart of WHO YOU ARE. He might be a nice guy to you... Doesn't mean he's the RIGHT one. The RIGHT guy will accept you for who you ate NO MATTER WHAT. He won't try to jump to making compromise. Used to fit "his" needs. I say let him go. You don't need that kind of pressure and stress.

He doesn’t seem to understand your need for having a service dog. It’s almost like a child. If you were a single parent, you’re a package deal. May I ask what your service dog does for you? I know some detect seizures, help pick up dropped items, etc. Maybe he’s wanting to be more intimate and having the dog around all of the time makes him uncomfortable? He’s clearly not used to dating someone with a service dog so it’s an adjustment for him.Have you asked him why he doesn’t want the dog to come along or asked him if he has questions about your condition? Dating someone with a chronic illness is not easy and not for everyone. He could be the nicest guy in the world and sometimes it’s just not enough. If he’s the right person for you, he’ll learn to include what you need to function. Otherwise, perhaps being friends or not moving forward is your best bet.

I’m he doesn’t fully understand why you need a service dog at all times then it’s understandable why you would want to end this relationship. It’s better to do it now than to wait longer. Have you tried talking to him? Is he not a dog person?
I need and love my dog, if he doesn't at least understand or like the it's a red flag.
Honestly, if he can’t respect your needs and be empathetic in this area , this is a major red flag and may show up in other areas

You have to do what’s best for you and if he can’t accept your specials up, does he really accept you for you?
That's got to be irritating have you tried explaining the things you had to go through to get her/him? Or how little it effected it all.
Does the dog not like him?
