I.....have no words. I experienced something really not great with a sibling yesterday and it has me shaken up and I really just need to talk about it. I've talked about it with my parents, one of my sister's, and some friends, but I wanted to hear what y'all's comments about it are. TL;DR Anti-LGBTQ, Sexism, Betrayal of trust, Conservative views, and more So, excuse my explicit language, but this situation is fucked up. Long story short my brother (29 yrs old) somewhat recently stole my body wash and hid it from me, but I didn't know about it until I went to go take a shower yesterday. Another long story short is he hid it from me bc it is men's body wash (it just happened to be the first one I saw, so I bought it. Also, for context, I bought it before I came back home for the summer). He didn't want me to use it bc I'm a girl. But wait, there's more. My dad tried to stand up for me (I wasn't in their vicinity at the time, but I could still hear them) and my brother called me a creep for getting the same scent as him. Oh and btw, I found out he took my body wash bc I noticed it was missing, I went to go ask him if he knew where it was (I had checked everywhere and couldn't find it) and he asked, what body wash, I said the old spice one, and he was like why do you have to use old spice and I said that's besides the point, do you know where it is and he said, I'm not gonna help you find it and I was like, are you serious? and then he preceded to raise his voice at me and said, do I sound frikin serious, get the heck out and slammed the door in my face.

Honestly I'm debating replying on this because I'm petty af (I'll delete this comment if you want), but I would then steal his body wash and replace it with lavender scented one because bro needs to calm the f down. Honestly though like 60% of women I know use old spice

This is ridiculous. It’s just body wash? Everyone can use it not just guys. I get that old spice is catered to a male audience, but that doesn’t mean that only they can use it. It’s the same with makeup. Makeup is shown to a “female audience” but others also use it. Personally I think he’s just insecure and has toxic masculinity

@Calibird He moved all his shit to his room when I first came back home, so I don't even know where it is.

@Calibird I can understand about being petty. Lol I am definitely the opposite of petty, but I'm sure your suggestion would give him a pretty clear message.

Honey it sounds like you are going to have to keep your belongings in your room for the time being. Let your piece of shit brother know he can keep this bottle because apparently he needs it and you will get another one.

@901Snoop I don't think I need to go that far, but I can get that and I did end up getting some different body wash yesterday

he's for sure having an existential crisis about turning 30 and still being a sad sack. my brother just turned 30 and he's been the same way with me, except he's being ableist instead of sexist. unfortunately the economy and housing market are in shambles so I do have to live with him, and my mom almost always takes his side these days because I don't work or contribute to the house so I don't really get a say. Just tough it out, everything will get much better when you don't have to deal with him every day anymore. But also don't be afraid to let him know what a disappointment he is if he's almost 30 and still clinging to the most childish, narrow-minded beliefs on the planet
