Confused about my ex's intentions

I believe your best course of action may be some significant space although if he claims to feel this way set your boundaries and expectations firmly. In some instances, like this for example, if what he’s claiming is true and for whatever reason does not want the title he should still be able to respect certain expectations or boundaries you’d set for time apart. If you would want to only talk or have relations with eachother during this time away or space tell him that and if he can’t respect that I think you’ll have your answer as to what he truly wants wether it is to be with you or not.
