It wasn't even brought to my attention until I was 19 and my partner couldn't believe I didn't have a diagnosis. He sent me a million articles about it and I was like Oh. and then when I was 23 my GP was like "how do you not have a diagnosis of autism and ADHD yet" lmao. I felt dumb for not recognizing it sooner, but turns out almost all my teachers did, my mom just didn't bother telling me

At 19, senior year. My mom noticed that I always moved the shampoo bottles on top of the shower door, and I couldn't explain why; later learned after testing that the water hitting a half empty bottle was overestimulating me.

Idk. I’m 19 and I get my evaluation results in 5 days. I can’t wait like either way I would really just like an answer.

Yes, I actually just got diagnosed this year and I'm almost 22. The doctor even told me it's very difficult to be diagnosed that late and that doctors typically only focus on diagnosing children instead of also diagnosing adults as well. Growing up, I had a learning disability since elementary school and was almost diagnosed with asbergers as a child, but they thought it was most likely nothing. I started wondering around a year or so ago if that was a possibility that I was autistic, but people around me thought I was "too smart" to be autistic and that I didn't act or look autistic. I even had an old coworker who was also on the spectrum that didn't believe I was. They basically said "I'm autistic so I know what is and isn't autistic, and you definitely aren't". I was so grateful though that I finally got a diagnosis this year after so long and finally have some closure about it all! 😊

@Popsicle_Clown Can I ask how your family handled it? Mine aren't taking it well

@2cee yes! My mom felt so bad because for sooo so long I had been telling her about these symptoms and how I think something else is wrong with me. And she kept thinking I was being dramatic. And my stepdad, although I know he loves me, doesn’t think I suffer from it in any way. He knows I’m diagnosed but thinks I’m totally fine and nothing is really wrong
