so having BPD and anxiety often when i leave my boyfriend/fp for even a short period of time i get very anxious and start to worry about him. this is because of frequent grief these past years. does anybody have any tips on how to help me calm myself down. and maybe just cope with being alone with my surroundings. because it can be very difficult at times.

I have looked into this myself bc I’ve felt it too. What changed my perspective during the pandemic is working with a therapist who helped me with visual techniques and other tools. What worked for me when I felt lonely and anxious about others and people leaving me was drawing/doodling a road and all the people in my life and what I’m involved in next to me in close proximity. I thought it sounded weird but when I practiced it I felt immediately calmer seeing that people are actually not so far. Also writing my thoughts in a journal daily about how I feel helps me maintain a close connection to my thoughts. It helps me organize them and see them, getting them onto paper. You are not alone ❤️

Maybe a keepsake from your boyfriend to have with you? Something to give you comfort even when you’re not together.
