Hi everyone, I am currently trying to get help with my eating disorder but I am also a full time student and have a full time job. I am willing to go to a program over the summer but in the meantime what can I do to start trying to help myself now? I appreciate anything. Thank you

Hi love! This is such a big step to reach out for help and I’m so proud of you! If you can I would recommend a therapist that specializes in EDs and a nutritionist as well! You can meet with them virtually, which is helpful being a student; also look into a recovery coach also online and you can text them 24/7!! Good luck love, recovery is so worth it and you deserve happiness!!💗

Make recovery goals for yourself, like eating a certain number of meals, or adding a snack, tackle a fear food and work on getting comfortable eating it. Take it slow, push yourself to recover, but taking it slow and easy will be less stressful than starting in the deep end

that's amazing still for you to take that step! I am currently in the same position where I am going to begin treatment in summer, as I'm on the waiting list. This is a treatment I have done before. I also feel myself falling in to old habits. A piece of advice I can offer is firstly baby steps, I know how difficult it can be to get from A to Z but with small steps, even just an extra bite of food a day is progress. Since you have had professional treatment before, think of a goal they have you or something they made you try, and try and attempt that again. For example, one of my first goals was to add a certain portion of food to my breakfast. Yours might be completely different, but even just an extra spoonful is a step forward in fighting your ED. Hope this is helpful x

start small. when i first was pulling myself out of ED hell, a very good friend of mine reccomended Soda. One cup a day, even if it’s small. it gets you full of sugar and energy, and slowly gets your body used to calories again and burning them properly (so your body doesn’t think it’s still in starvation mode, and save away those calories) once you’re able to drink your cup of soda without guilt, graduate upwards! a snack cake or a full portion of your favorite meal!

@ImpishCupid thank you! That sounds like something super manageable that I could try.

@aminapp thank you! This isn't my first time reaching out for professional help. I was hospitalized for it a few years ago but the last few months I've started falling into old habits.
