Anyone have experience with smoking weed and asthma? I recently found out I have uncontrolled asthma, after having chest pain and trouble breathing for 2 years (I was diagnosed with mild asthma as a kid) I started smoking weed a year ago. I haven’t noticed any changes in my breathing, and I mentioned the fact that I smoke to my doc and she didn’t say anything about it. It helps a lot with some of my other conditions so I’m hesitant to stop. Thanks :)

I used to but my asthma got so bad that I couldn't anymore. I would have an asthma attack after a hit and ya, that just was not gonna work. Good luck to you!!! Like suggested above, edibles are a good choice as well

Anything you combust and inhale into your lungs (asthma or no) is not good. If it's tolerable just keep an eye on it. If it's not, edibles are totally the way to go. Good luck!

Edibles and gummies instead of smoking helped me ♡ also using a water pipe helps and then there is a thing you can breathe into so you don't smoke the room up but I forget what it is called o.o

@sillypotate ooh I’m definitely gonna see if I can find that thing cause that sounds super helpful I just got a water pipe too! Thanks!

I also have asthma and smoke the only trouble I’ve ever had is if I take a rip too hard and struggle to get back to breathing normally I try to keep my inhaler on hand whenever I smoke just incase it’s worked out for me so far

@Gwynn oh same, that’s a good idea I never think to have my inhaler on hand lol thank you so much!

Truthfully I would recommend getting rid of all the things that are triggers to your asthma at least things that you have control to get rid of if weed is a trigger I say do not do it or talk to your dr about it see what he or she say sometimes things we love that are triggers or find better relief

@LixiKat thanks! I honestly don’t think weed is a trigger since I started smoking a year ago and have had symptoms for 2, but it’s def something I’m gonna talk to my doc about. I haven’t noticed any changing in my breathing from when I started smoking

I usually stay away from smoking so I eat edibles instead. Takes longer to hit but can still get high and relief without triggering asthma! I get gummies:)

@Annikaz I’ve been using edibles more just to see if it would change anything, but so far everything feels the same I really appreciate your advice!

I have asthma and I smoke weed! I've smoked for years and the thing I've noticed is when I'm high, I feel like I can't breathe and I really have to focus on it or I feel like I'll suffocate. I don't know if it's cause I'm high or if I have asthma but that's just my experience. I try not to get too high now. If I get TOO high it feels like there's a weight on my chest stopping me from breathing.

@babighost thank you!! I get the breathing thing, that happens to me too, it feels like I can’t really breathe through my nose sometimes. Although I find it happens when I smoke and when I just use edibles so I kinda thought it was just a being hyper aware of my body thing. Thanks for replying!!

@Jangel I thought I was the only one 😩😩 Maybe it is just because we're hyper aware, ill never know lol
