Holler to all the other amazing, strong young women who are special enough to have combined type ADHD out there. There is almost no research about women with ADHD. And certainly no one talks about how those pesky hyper systems impact us.

Yep! I'm not physically hyperactive at all, unless you count "being fidgety" from EDS→blood pooling or Autistic hand-flapping while I speak with emotion. But my braaaaaain ohhh my... My brain is bouncing off the dang walls at every little stimulus

Anyone of you guys have hyperactive sx that you feel are misunderstood bc they look different than in a young boy?

Non-binary amab here ✋, dx'd at 33 after a whole lifetime of neglect. Also: severe antisocial/socially confused/sensory-sensitive Autistic, PTSD from many angles, and over 9 counts of TBI. Always referres to as BPD+MDD+GAD before my self-dx and confirmation when I sought ND psych eval.

Very untrue. Check out "How To ADHD" on YouTube—you will find that there is *specific* research in this area... you're just surrounded by NTs in a cishet's world and often overlooked. But—the ones looking, they see you 👀

In regards to the world changing, I seen a quote on a video for neurodiversity that said “when a flower doesn’t bloom you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower”

Please. This is THE forum to rant. I totally agree that the world needs to change.

Thanks for sharing, rfrizzy. How would you say that having combined type ADHD has impacted you on a daily basis, both the good and the bad?

I wasn't diagnosed until I was 27, and I only was then because my psychiatrist was amazing and I was getting treatment for depression.

So let’s talk about it. Tell me your story.
