I’ve been wondering if I have autism for the past few years. There’s a lot of reasons. I know I have some sort of sensory issues. It’s pretty easy for me to feel overloaded when there’s a lot of people or a lot going on in general. Certain feelings bug me potentially more than it should. I struggle a lot, socially. I find it almost too easy to zone out during a conversation (which may be a lot of lack of focus than anything.) I’d seen someone else mention this as well, but I have so many problems with directions. Like. I struggle so much because I have to deliberately make a note of where something is in order to remember where things are, which I often don’t, unless I have to. A lot of things that I think could be autism could also be anxiety so it’s difficult to know, for me anyway. I’ve looked up symptoms and what not and I don’t feel like I check every box, but I definitely relate to a lot of it and I hate looking at that and going “well maybe because (insert super stereotypical autism identifier here)” otherwise I’d be listing things along those lines here. Lol. I’d like support, but I also feel too anxious to ask for it.

I have a lot of the same identifiers in the "autism spectrum" from a traumatic brain injury. Traumatic Brain Injuries can occur from physical injury like falling or from illness like prolonged fevers.

With all of that being stated, don't be quick to self diagnose yourself. ANXIETY alone is debilitating. ❤️

I have extreme social anxiety, anxiety, and panic attacks. People and places easily drain me of all of my energy. I have to retreat, isolate, and get alone. I'm already alone and here, there's no support system because I recognize that nobody cares about mental health or being kind to others. I chalk my sensory overloads to being an empath. I pick up on others energies quickly and it depletes me as well. I'm always feeling exhausted and overwhelmed.

It truly could be as i’ve wondered this about myself honestly for a long time 😂 Autism symptoms, especially females, get misdiagnosed as other disorder and overlooked so easily. Now I wont lie, adhd and anxiety really highly mimic the symptoms of autism so it more than likely just a combo of those two HOWEVER. If you truly think you might be experiencing these things that are congruent to autism I would look into getting tested, either by your primary or getting referred to a psychologist. Its better to know than to guess and if you truly do have autism you can change the ways you cope and such with different sensory issues or anxieties differently than you did before to better accommodate.

@xtaylorx oh yeah. I see a counselor and a psychiatrist now (unfortunately over the phone cuz of scheduling and stuff) but it’s primarily for my anxiety and stuff. I did bring it up with my counselor, but she said she would kinda observe me to see type thing so

I get 100% I’ve wondered. But I don’t think I do. Despite my brother having autism. I feel like more for me or would be: sensory processing sensitivity aka highly sensitive person aka empath people call it different thing but I think it’s same thing. I get so itched somtimes ! People can eat and I wanna cry. I got some Loop ear buds to keep the loud sounds at bay. I like them. But I’d you find you have autism all support to you!! 💕

@Katharina I’ve been tempted to look into Loop ear buds but I wonder if I’d like them or if I’d seen like I have earplugs in and I’m concerned that with my job it’ll be a *thing*. I think the hardest part for me is struggling with knowing and I want to know kind of thing. It’s hard to explain.
