My dad doesn’t understand UC, and told me that my flare up would simply go away after a clear liquid diet which I’ve tried to explain multiple times it was for the doctors to see in my stool if there was blood. Dad refuses to take me to the hospital. And tells me I don’t need steroids to help fix me.. what do I do?

I am sorry/ has he been to the GI with you??? This isn’t ok! How old are you? UC can be lie threatening! He needs to listen to you if you’re in pain, bleeding and unable to eat. I’m a parent and there is no way I’d sit back and watch my child suffer. You could loose your entire colon if not treated!

I relate to this a lot my mom was the same way and still doesn't believe I have ibd even though I have proof of diagnosis and bleeding and being to hospital for over year now. They are just in denial. I wasn't able to go to the doctor until I was moved out at 17. It was too late for me, since she wouldn't take me , my disease progressed and I'm still not in remission but at least I'm able to go to doctor now. My best advice is to try and move out of your house with someone you trust and is understanding of your disease and willing to help you get the care you need jf that's rides to the doctor or a safe place/space. Best of wishes ♥️

It mainly helps with liquid-based foods, and antibiotics foods. Flavored yogurt, or plain, lots of clear liquids, stuff like that. Stat AWAY from dairy! Regulate your starch intake, and also stay away from red meats and hard substances such as meat or cheeses, and bread.
