I'm having trouble getting motivated to go to work every week, I find myself calling in more often and getting knots in my stomach before even showing up. is this normal? what can I do to be more motivated?

@Michelle1993 oh yeah I know. Motivation is hard. Do you think you might not like your job? I was like that with some of my jobs. Maybe you should try switching it up and find a job somewhere else. I have been working customer service for 29years. Two of my jobs I had a nervous breakdown. So I went back to school and learned culinary arts. Went to work in kitchens and loved it.

Honestly I know that feeling. But I toughened up and went to work and usually my day turned out good. It's like when I was a kid and didn't want to go to school cause kids always bullied me but I went and usually I had fun with my friends. Just got to push through it.

@Jules7 I'm trying, today wasn't so bad it's just getting the motivation to get up and get ready and get out the door

I just started a new job and they kind of threw me in the deep end. We’re understaffed and I’m working multiple positions at a time in healthcare which is taxing to begin with! I started having panic attacks AS SOON as I woke up or even in my sleep. I called out, wasn’t present mentally at work and then I reached out to my doctor. We discussed how it was situational stress but in the end I got a med adjustment. I’m still stress and under motivated but at least I’m getting in the door now.

@JessL0 oh nice i think part of it is me not being mentally here anymore I just got out of prison in December and I paroled to a treatment center in Albuquerque New Mexico and I'm about to go home to Las Cruces New Mexico in 5 weeks so I feel like I've already checked out here mentally

I definitely appreciate what your saying and I also have had those issues in the past. For me it was the anxiety, siiiiiiiiiiigh. I'm still struggling with that myself, but please don't give up. There are some great people here who definitely have better insight 😊😊
