I need help. I have abnormal results from labwork requested by a specialist, and I still can’t get in to see my primary care provider until December. I’ve gone back and forth on looking for a new provider for a while, but I guess I should do it now. I have some questions, and I’d appreciate any advice you can give! :3 1. ) if you're unsure of whether or not your current diagnosis is accurate, what should you use to look for a new provider? 2. I'm trans. There are very few openly queer-friendly doctors around where I live, but I know that some queer-friendly providers just don't list it anywhere publicly. Do you have any advice on finding a provider who won't have an issue continuing to prescribe HRT? 3. Is there anything I should specifically ask at a first appointment with a potential PCP? If you have thoughts/suggestions that aren’t directly related to something I mentioned, please feel free to say them! I feel like I have no idea of where to start.

1. Call your insurance company and ask for a list of specialists related to that condition or for a list of other pcps. If you don’t mind me asking what was the abnormal result? In the area I’m in there are big health systems so what I do is sometimes go to another doctor in the same health system by searching the health systems website. When going to a PCP for the first time, you’re going to want to share, 1. Major medical conditions / surgeries 2. Current medications 3. What the reason you are seeing them for. Any even tell them a little ab what make you, you. Hope this helps

@Jewels18 thank you, definitely going to try this! The detailed steps really help. As far as the blood work goes, my calcium and white blood cell counts were way past the higher end of the normal range.
