I am currently on zoloft (well, the generic version) and I believe that it is working well for me. I did have an extreme loss of appetite when I first transitioned to it from my last medication, but it only lasted about a week or two. Since then, I have not had any side effects. (Not saying this will happen to you, im sure it's uncommon, just giving you all of the info;))

I just came off duloxatine and it was a real bugger. It took several weeks of slow tapering for the dizziness to finally stop. I loved zoloft and took it for 2 years prior to duloxtine. I had to stop because my life style shifted and it started to cause hartburn/drooling up to an hour after consumption.

Zoloft is as “good” as any psych medicine. A lot of people take it and like it. But everybody reacts to meds differently. Zoloft is an SSRI whereas the med you’ve been on is an SNRI so they are from a similar, but not exactly the same class of drugs. A good thing to remember with SSRIs is that they can take a few days or weeks to kick in.
