      Update: my GI doc prescribed Align probiotics, which is covered under my Medicaid insurance, but otherwise not too expensive, so I will try that instead of the OTC brand she acted like was worthless…

        @Tomatoface I hope Align works for you! She is right about OTC. Probiotics need to be shipped cold and live. Yes there are some live cultures in yogurt, but the levels in a Rx probiotic are like eating a 100 activia at once.

      I tried every brand under the sun and the only one I felt did anything was VSL#3. But it wasn't significant enough to warrant the cost.

        @Meg678 I had the same experience. Very minimal change and the cost was astronomical.
