So I have had depression for years but i had a baby in 2020 and got diagnosed with ppd, which just made things worse. Its been a year now and im taking Venlafaxine for depression but honestly at first it seemed to help and now it isnt helping and im just spiraling again. This is like the 3rd antidepressant medication ive been on and i just feel hopeless. I need a pill that gives me energy and makes me feel happy. Because i either am always tired, sad, or angry. Anyone on a medication that makes them happy and gives them energy?

I started with Zoloft and got switched 6 times before I went back to zoloft. Sometimes you just gotta strap in and keep trying! Also I use med marijuana and it helps

I know there is an antidepressant for ppd, just can’t remember the name. Worth checking out.

I’m good with fluoxetine! Probably not energized but feeling hopeful and getting out of bed became more easy so that’s a good thing! Also, I didn’t suffer any side effects

I guess first I'd ask if you have spoken to your PCP or whomever prescribed your medication. Explain to them what you are experiencing and see if there is something else you might try. There are many out there to choose from. I myself take Duloxetine, it works well but takes time to build up in your system. I wish well in your search for something that works. You may also try meditation in addition too. I do and you'd be amazed at the difference it makes. 🤗 🙏

Viibryd, I went through 6 different anti-depressants. Then I got a genetic test done and it showed which ones that work best for me. I can only take 3 pills. Thank god the first one I tried worked. Maybe ask for that test, it's covered by most insurances.

Do you have a therapist specialized in treating PPD?

Try medical marijuana, I use the vape called morroccan mint. Makes me have energy, lifts my depression and help with pain.
