Being that I suffer severely with social anxiety and other disorders it's made me accept the solitude I've endured through out my life. However, there are sudden realizations like today, that it's extremely painful how lonely I actually am. And no one to truly go to. Especially already being in my 30's. Seeing everyone elses life around me and their growth definitely has me in such a low mood.

Hi. I understand where you are at as far as feeling incredibly lonely, yet (for me any) feeling more comfortable in solitude to avoid the anxiety. I am in my early 30s and seeing other people live their lives and see them move forward in life upsets me, but I also remind myself that they have their own struggles that I don't see. Life isn't a race, but a one time experience we have and I know I dont want to spend that time hating myself, feeling lonely, and comparing myself to others. I am.working to be more social despite my anxiety and I have found it actually helps some.

I am a very anxious and secluded person as well, although I am married. My problems have gotten much worse the last few years and it has caused problems in my marriage. It's seems that we go in circles because she can not relate (she is a very social person). So even being with someone I feel so alone...

@Natron01 I understand how difficult it must be when the other person isn't able to relate, but I do hope they at least try to understand. Most people in my life (siblings etc) are the absolute social butterflies, so it always feels like I'm the one on the outside looking in. They also don't entirely understand that the way you are isn't something you can shake off. I do try and go 50/50 (out of my own comfort) with those around me, but it definitely becomes overwhelming and draining.
