Hey everyone, my name is anaïs!! I’ve had anxiety for as long as I can remember, but about 4 months ago, I ended up having a panic attack and dissociating for the first time which has left me with panic attacks, and fear to go in public. Does anyone have any good coping skills or thoughts that help them when out in public places to calm them down?

“Uncomfortable does not mean unsafe” reminding myself I’m okay. Going places with a trusted person. Baby steps of getting back out and about. Be gentle with yourself.

I try to always go out with my adult daughter or fiancé. That way if I have a panic attack I know someone is with me ❤️

Grounding exercises always help. I would look up the 5-4-3-2-1 technique as well as some others. Talk to yourself in your head like "I'm fine" "I'm okay" "this isn't hurting me" whatever you have to do to talk yourself down. This is just what works for me. I hope this helps!
