Looking for advice on getting a pump for diabetes management

Ok I have been told since 2007 that I was a T2 well I found out this yr that I have always been a T1 so before I found out I have been on many pills and shots I was taking up to 8 shots a day just to keep it down my A1C was 21.2 and my bs was 1,329, they put me on the pump and in just 2 months my A1C was down to 10.5 and my bs is normal almost all the time except when I forget to put my carbs in my pump for my extra insulin if needed which is about 10% of the time. My insulin pump is called Medtronic and I use the freestyle libre system and absolutely love it

I’m type one since the age of 5 so 33 years I just started my pump this year maybe 8 months ago and just switched from the Omnipod dash to the Omnipod 5… I love it more time in range more stable levels less lows and highs … I can eat and drink what I want… I been on the dexcom maybe a year love the control I have with The two … I highly recommend if ur insurance allows it…

This is my story, too! I was diagnosed at 10, did shots for a decade, and then switched to a pump in 2018. I was 20. I've been on the Medtronic system since! My A1C is definitely lower which is amazing since I was in college and female hormones from 18-24 are WHACK! I've really appreciated the greater flexibility, toting around less supplies, and the greater control over my care. I think there's totally a time and place for shots and for pumps, but I have really loved these last couple years with a pump!
