I think it depends. I’m on 20 mg of Lexapro and at first I thought it would dull who I am but I found that I am still me but without the suicidal thoughts. I am still able to cry and laugh and I’ve found that I’m just as creative as I was before taking it.

Everybody is different, but I think it depends on how much and how long you’ve been taking it. When I got started on 10mg of Lexapro I felt like I wasn’t capable of crying or getting sad. Eventually I was able to start crying and feeling apathetic again. I think certain things trigger sadness for me if that makes sense.

I think it could depend on the dosage and how your body reacts to it. I’m on 5mg of Lexapro and I don’t really notice a difference but it may not be enough for me. But, yeah it can feel that way you may not be able to cry or laugh as much. I would just see how it goes and if it’s something that bothers you I would just let your doctor or whomever you talk to know about how you feel.
